ellaH e.V. is an NGO, situated in Halle (Saale), Germany. It was founded as Tanztheater ellaH (dance theatre ellaH) in 1997, out of the joy in movement, expression and collective improvisation. Each member of the ensemble participates, next to his/her job or training in the association, which is based on a self-governing organization structure. Next to the development of a platform for performing arts, especially for dance and theater, as well as a place of training with offers for dance pedagogy, regularly arise projects with guests and partners in the fields of choreography, music, acting, media and performing arts. The intention of the association is, to further the understanding of dance, dance theater and its adjacent art forms over the limits of the region and the generations.
The development of the ensemble, aided by the artistic director Annett Paschke, is consequently aimed at the expansion and quality of the performing possibilities of expression.
Thereby included is an intensive training and repetition work. It ranges from contemporary dance, through theater, language, musical education up to forums of discussion for society and politics. Therefore ellaH e.V. works together with professional artists and pedagogues. The NGO is member of LanZe e.V., Saxony-Anhalt, and has already been present in numerous festivals (f.ex. NEULAND – festival for free theaters in Saxony-Anhalt, Electric Renaissance festival, Tanzwoche Dresden, IMPULS – festival for new music in Saxony-Anhalt) and guest performances throughout Germany.
ellaH e.V. functions as an initiator and network point for the projection and execution of TURNING POINTS – a theatrical research project and will be actively tied in with ensemble members, as well as setting an artistic-dramaturgic frame for the project.
